BREAST AUGMENTATION

Breast augmentation is surgery intended to increase the size of or volume in the breast. This may be done using an implant made of silicone or saline or in some cases can be achieved using a technique called autologus fat grafting where the patient’s own fat tissue is transferred from one area of the body to another. At KDS Aesthetics, Dr. Szymanski will evaluate your current anatomy and take measurements at your first consultation. Together you will discuss your goals and what your options may be. Dr. Szymanski will review with your the pros and cons of each option presented and the risks and details of each. For some patients, multiple procedures may be planned to achieve the desired result.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Once the decision is made to move forward with surgery, our team will schedule a pre-procedure visit and select your surgery date. A breast augmentation will be performed under general anesthesia, meaning you will be asleep for the operation. Surgery typically takes about two hours to complete. You will have a scar following surgery depending on how the implant is placed, but patients most often find the benefits outweigh the scar. You will go home the same day as surgery to recover. We recommend you plan for extra help around the house for the days following your procedure as you adjust and recover. Recovery for each patient varies and depends on your lifestyle.
